Organ Alternatives is a production and communications company based in Toronto, Canada dedicated to the future of the organ as a performing instrument, and to its ongoing development in artistic and interdisciplinary creation. It was founded at Toronto’s St. James’ Cathedral by Christopher Dawes in 1992 shortly after he accepted an organist appointment there, and continues following his 12 years spent in that church’s musical service. Through this website, various affiliated institutions and colaborative performances and other projects, Organ Alternatives works to enhance communication in the Canadian organ world and promote organ performance at the highest standard of quality and creativity.
