Welcome to sicm.ca, the online home of Canada’s Summer Institute of Church Music and its biennial Osborne Organ Competition. In 2009 SICM is commencing a year of celebrations, new initiatives and projects to commemorate 40 years of service to Canada’s churches, congregations and musicians. The Pentecost Cross on a musical note symbolises the transformative power of music in the Christian faith, and sums up the mission of SICM, its Board, and its many members, and faculty.

SICM is Canada’s intensive week-long residential summer study program geared at the musicians of churches of all sizes and denominations. Grounded in the creative and inspired use of organ and choir in worship it seeks to celebrate and extend exciting and new horizons in church music, committed always to helping its members and their churches maintain the highest standards possible.
